I look back and realize that my love for djing, for vinyl records, that warm crackle you just can’t find elsewhere in music must have derived from somewhere. Tonight I’m staring at what no doubt must have been my initial inspiration, my folks’ Seeburg Select-O-Matic 100 coin operated jukebox was no doubt my first foray in track selection and entertaining others through music. Powered by vacuum tubes and still emitting that same warmth and ambience it has since the 50’s, I’m endowed upon those first impressions and the lasting legacy it’s left in me and my music.
